About Mary

Mary is the main antagonist and tritagonist of the JRPGMaker horror, Ib. She lives in a cursed art gallery painted by her creator, Weiss Guertena. Her goal is to escape the gallery and live in the real world, but in order to accomplish that, she has to sacrifice the life of someone in the real world. She is mentally and physically around nine-years-old. Her chronological age is unknown.

During her time on the Serena Eterna, she was close friends with Omori and his sister Mari, who was also her roommate. She viewed Ann like a big sister and was also friends with Genis. Ginger, Pickles, and Mikazuki were often targets of her harassment due to her jealousy problems. She may have attempted to stab or push many of the adults overboard several times. Her time spent in the Nothing heightened her more unstable, violent side.

After possessing Fio's body, she spent most of her time letting her frustrations out on the teddy bear, Judith, before entirely dropping her act at the Halloween party. She reacted badly during the explosion (set off by another passenger from the past, Rudolph possessing Hiyori's body), due to the fire reminding her of the time her painting was set ablaze.

...I definitely played up Mary being more of a brat than usual on purpose for the sake of the event. She's more sympathetic in canon, I swear!

■ Mary was the singing ghost in TDM #7's chandelier prompt.
■ Fio was not possessed during any of her prompts in her early October post. Shame on you if you thought so.
■ After Fio's last dream with "Sparkles", she left her cabin, taking along with her plush bear Judith.
■ Fio was nearly killed by Omori (in Rich's body) in the Halloween store. Afterwards, she was possessed by Mary. She did not see Omori/Rich in her final moments.

Any reply/tag-in on a thread ICly dated past 10/11 was made by Mary. The anonymous account from Mary doing art vandalism around the ship is croquisbook.

Note (Please Read!) There are some unfinished/dropped threads, especially on Mary's trick-or-treating thread! I apologize for dropping any since I am obviously bad at stacking too many threads at once... I'll be reaching out to players and try to make up for it with Fio in the future, if you'll have me!

🎨FUN EASTER EGGS

■ Red, blue, yellow roses are prominent in Ib canon. Red and blue roses are real. Mary's yellow rose is a fake.
■ The cat drawing is a reference to MEWO from Omori.
■ The face on the damage report is based on the face of Mary's blue dolls.
■ The painting on Darcy's door is a reference to the painting Your Dark Figure from Ib canon, with MEWO from Omori mixed in.
■ The style of Mary's drawings are based on her doodles from the Toy Box zone. The clown on Skulduggery's door also has its own individual painting.
■ The white rose represents Fio and is a reference to one of her short stories.
■ The interaction with Darcy:

(To Darcy) "You're going away? Don't leave."
(To Darcy) "I'm sorry... when I saw you at the boat with everything, it's just... suddenly all these feelings came gushing out."

(To Ib, from canon) "Ib... don't leave me..."
